Multi-Ethnic Sports and Culture Northern Ireland (MSCNI) is a non-profit registered (NIC106476) charity organisation, Central body BAME Sports and Cultural platform, which was first founded in 2016. The principal purpose of MSCNI is to provide a welcoming safe space for people from the BAME communities within Northern Ireland, whilst fostering positive interracial and local community relationships through the medium of sports and culture activities irrespective of race, ethnicity, gender, religious beliefs.
MSCNI is a one hundred percent volunteer driven charitable organisation ,since it was founded in 2016. MSCNI holds a strong volunteering ethos, which acknowledges the vital role they play in supporting the organisation, along with the personal development opportunities it provides for people from the BAME community. There is a core volunteer base (which includes the Management Committee of 6 elected positions). The volunteers provide 80% of the time and support required to effectively deliver our activities and services. A smaller number of volunteers provide time on a one-off activity basis, although most of the volunteers time on weekly basis. Without the support of our volunteers, we would not be able to provide the majority of the activities available at MSCNI.
Our mission is to encourage the participation of sports within BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnics)Asylees and Refugees. Encouraging and supporting the members to integrate into their local communities, unite communities, promote peace, cross-community cohesion, promote good relations, address triggers of social isolation, and build friendships.
Empower all members of the BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnics), Refugee and Asylum communities through the medium of sports, cultural activities, and education for an equal and inclusive future.
